Safety Switches And Switchboards
In alot of Queensland homes safety switches are only fitted to the power circuit, meaning alot of homes do not have the appropriate and
recommended level of safety installed.
Safety switches are what can save your life in the event of an electrical fault.
You should be testing your safety switches every six months, which can be done easily using the test button on the switch (As shown in video below). Every two years it is recommended you have your safety switches tested by a licensed technician to ensure it is in completely good and working order and all components are in tact for when in need. In the video below we also show the difference between a circuit breaker and a safety switch, circuit breakers are commonly mistaken for safety switches, however does not offer the protection required in the event of an electrical fault.
The Spectrum electrical team offer an electrical safety Inspection to provide complete peace of mind, this includes a complete inspection of your entire switchboard including the safety switches, we also make sure your smoke alarms are in working order, visual check of home and more.
